Strawberry Crumble

INGREDIENTS

For the strawberries:
350 g strawberries
1 heaping tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
to taste grated zest and juice of 1/2 lemon

For the crumble:
130 g flour
60 g butter
50 g sugar
to taste grated zest and juice of 1/2 lemon

To serve:
to taste fior di latte gelato (or plain milk ice cream)

Method

STEP 01
Cut the strawberries into quarters and mix them in a bowl with the sugar, cornstarch, grated lemon zest, and lemon juice.

STEP 02
In another bowl, combine all the ingredients for the crumble and crumble the mixture with your hands.

STEP 03
Place the strawberries in the baking dish and sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.
STEP 04
Bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25–30 minutes, until the crumble is golden brown.

STEP 05
Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve with a scoop of ice cream.
