After graduating from the Polytechnic University of Milan with an architectural degree in 1972, he began working as an industrial designer, collaborating with various companies, including: Ansorg, Arclinea, Axor-Hansgrohe, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Fusital, Hermès, Iittala, Kartell, Malobbia, Maxalto, Sanitec Group, Technogym, Tre Più and Vitra. Maxalto, a B&B Italia brand, is entirely created and coordinated by Antonio Citterio.
He lectures and holds conferences, winning several awards, including the Golden Compass in 1987 and 1994. Some of his works are in the permanent collections of the MoMA and Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
In 1999 he founded the firm “Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners” together with Patricia Viel, working internationally to develop complex design programs of all scales, in synergy with an expert network of specialist consultants.
With TVS, he designed the cooking system Artusi 2.0.
